HOW TO HELP
Our bags are a great way to get the ball rolling in the right direction towards reducing plastic pollution. Here are some other plastic-reducing ideas and tricks to add to your arsenal of environmentally-friendly habits.
UPCYCLE YOUR 'TRASH'
As they say, "one man's trash is another man's treasure". In this case, your own trash can be your treasure! For example, most plastic grape bags are resealable and work perfect as produce bags or faux-Ziplocks. Plastic take-out containers have many uses after their delicious contents are long gone. Mesh citrus bags are durable and great for many upcycling projects; need a sack for baby's bathtub toys? Citrus bag! Need a place in the garage to hold wiffle balls and baseballs? Citrus bag! The point is to think outside the box when it comes to repurposing
and reusing items that may otherwise get thrown out. Get creative!

R-E-C-Y-C-L-E!
This is the easiest and most obvious of the tips and tricks: RECYCLE! It's going to be hard to kick the plastic habit entirely in today's convenience-driven world. I myself still slip up occasionally ("Yes, hello? Starbucks?"). But I find solace knowing that my plastic items are reincarnated after a visit to the recycling plant.
If your home isn't blessed with a recycling bin, you can find them at most home improvement stores and on Amazon. Or better yet, take our previous advice and turn an old paint bucket or milk crate into a recycling bin!
Don't have recycling in your area? Need to recycle something really odd like a casette player from 1981? Visit Earth911 which has one of the largest recycling databases in North America. They'll either show you the nearest recycling center or help you find an alternative solution.
Another company doing amazing work in the recycling sector is TerraCycle. Visit their website to learn more about their Zero Waste Boxes and how you can lit-er-a-lly recycle ALL of your trash with them.
